What Is A Durable (Financial) Power of Attorney?

A Durable Financial Power of Attorney designates an agent and provides them the authority to handle financial matters on your behalf when you become incapacitated. There are different powers of attorneys, but a durable financial power of attorney is a comprehensive legal document that will name an agent to manage your finances.

It is not always possible to set up a financial power of attorney before it becomes too late. Because of this, it is important to not put off estate planning to a later date. Our legal team is ready to help you with the process and provides a free consultation to help you understand what type of estate plan you may need.

What Financial Decisions Can The Agent Make?

Once you have started the process of putting together your financial power of attorney, you will have to name an agent to be responsible for decision making. Some of the decisions that your financial agent will be able to make are:

  • Accessing Financial Records
  • Buying Insurance
  • Collecting Retirement Benefits
  • Investing On Your Behalf
  • Managing Real Estate Assets
  • Operating Your Small Business
  • Paying Your Bills
  • Paying Your Taxes
  • Transferring, Selling & Buying Assets
Nothing but calming, compassionate, informative, and helpful through the probate process. We are now updating our estate plan and continue to receive their attentiveness and professionalism.
